The San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center

Discussion and Coming Out Groups

One of The Center's oldest and longest continually running programs, The Discussion Group Program began in 1978. Since their inception, discussion groups have often been a community member's first contact with the LGBT community. Facilitated by peers, discussion groups were created to provide a safe, social, and educational space for community members to experience decreased isolation, an increased sense of belonging, and an opportunity to share their struggles and victories. Groups are
held at The Center, 3909 Centre Street and all community members are welcome!

The center also provides professional counseling groups. Click here to view the Counseling and Behavioral Health Services page.
