Behavioral Health Services & Counseling (English & Spanish)
Counseling services for those living with HIV, their partners and families are available FREE at The Center. Whether you just need some quick help with a specific life challenge or need a little more time to build up your coping skills, services are available to individuals, couples and families. The first Tuesday of the month from 9-10:30am, visit The Center’s parking lot for a “one-stop-shop.” Receive emergency fresh food, pre-screen for food stamps and sign up for a range of other services, including employment and medical as well as low-cost utility programs. Hillcrest Youth Center

HIV Consumer Empowerment
The Ryan White Treatment Extension Act provides for direct local consumer & HIV community involvement in the local HIV Planning Councils which provide guidance regarding both local service & budget priorities. For information about participation in the local planning process, call 619.293.4711.

Living with HIV Counseling and Support Groups
The Center offers a number of Living with HIV groups facilitated by mental health professionals from The Center's Behavioral Health Services. These weekly groups invite discussion on a range of issues from dating, disclosure, dealing with stigma, medical treatments and access to HIV support services. Members learn how to cope with the psychological impact of living with HIV/AIDS over an extended time and ways to ensure a long, healthy life. This is a Spanish-language, open group that provides information and support to those infected/affected by HIV. No need to be HIV+ to participate. Friends and relatives of the LGBT community are welcome to attend the last Wednesday of the month. For more information, call 619.692.2077 x116.
YA+ Discussion Group

Meth Relapse Prevention Group
The Center offers a Meth Relapse Prevention group for people with HIV/AIDS who are also in recovery from methamphetamine. The group is facilitated by mental health professionals from the Center’s Behavioral Health Services. This weekly group works from a harm reduction philosophy.
