Hillcrest Youth Center

In order to develop into successful and fully participating citizens, our youth need a safe, welcoming and affirming space where they can be themselves and access the resources they need. The Hillcrest Youth Center (HYC) is the first drop-in and recreational center in San Diego County dedicated to the needs LGBTQ and non-binary youth, as well as youth living with HIV. 

The HYC offers programming for LGBTQ+ youth and allies, ages 14-18, with special hours on Tuesdays for youth ages 10-13 and Thursdays for youth ages 18-24. You’ll find computer access, health education, basic financial education, youth leadership training, HIV prevention education, life skills training workshops, discussion groups, creative and performing arts programming, and amazing social activities.

Hours of Operation
Tuesday: 3:00 – 7:00pm (ages 10-13)
Wednesday: 3:00 – 7:00pm (ages 14-18)
Thursday: 3:00 – 7:00pm (ages 18-24)
Friday: 3:00pm – 7:00pm (ages 14-18)

The Rainbow Prom provides LGBTQ youth a safe, welcoming and affirming event where they can express themselves. LGBTQ youth want to go to prom, dress up and dance with that special someone, just like everyone else. Queer Royalty! Free! Great food! Awesome music! For more info. contact

The Queen Eddie Conlon Youth Fund was established by City Commissioner Nicole Murray-Ramirez, co-founder of the Imperial Court de San Diego, Imperial Court board member Nathan Garcia, and the Imperial Court de San Diego in conjunction with The San Diego LGBT Community Center. Named in honor of LGBT community leader, army veteran, columnist and entertainer Eddie Conlon, the Fund provides assistance to San Diego youth for education-related expenses, books, supplies and clothing.
