Will The Center be a four-day vote center for this election?
Yes, The Center will be a four-day vote center for the California State Special Election. The Center serves as a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ+ and allied folks to vote at for elections in San Diego County.

Prop 50

In August, California announced a statewide proposition to respond to Texas’s recent partisan-driven redistricting efforts. This response, known as The Election Rigging Response Act (Proposition 50), will be presented to California voters this November. If approved by voters, Prop 50 would temporarily replace congressional district maps drawn by an independent commission with new maps created by the California State Legislature through 2030.

  • A “Yes” vote supports amending the state constitution to allow California to temporarily adopt new, legislature-drawn congressional district maps from 2026 to 2030.
  • A “No” vote opposes the amendment and would keep the existing congressional district maps, drawn by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission, in place until they are redrawn in 2031.

Does everyone get a ballot in the mail?

Yes. Under state law, vote-by-mail ballots are sent to every active registered voter.

When will I receive my mail-in-ballot?

Counties will begin mailing ballots by Oct. 6.
