Community Advisory Committees (CAC)

The purpose of the Community Advisory Committees (CACs) is to support the programs & services of and advance the mission of The San Diego LGBT Community Center (The Center). Each program at The Center will have a functioning CAC for clients and community members to take part in – including, but not limited to, Senior Services, Latin@x Services, Black Services, Youth Services, and Transgender and Nonbinary Services (Project TRANS).
Applying to be a CAC member is a 5-step process. Please review the CAC role description below, and if you’re interested in joining a CAC, please fill out the application form, available online and in PDF format if you prefer to print the form and return it to the Welcome Desk at The Center.
This process can take up to 8 weeks depending on when the application is submitted. During the organization’s busy season, applications will not be reviewed – for the months of December and January.
You will also need to include a signed copy of The Center’s Community Guidelines with your application. Review the Guidelines here in English or Spanish.
You can download, sign, and email us your signed version to feedback@thecentersd.org as part of your application, or you can print and return with your printed application at the Welcome Desk at The Center. Otherwise, we will follow up with you to have you sign the Community Guidelines form once we receive your application.
Please note that at this time we are processing applications for the Project TRANS Community Advisory Committee and the Senior Services Community Advisory Committee. All others will receive an acknowledgement email for now.

El propósito de los Comités Asesores Comunitarios (CAC) es apoyar los programas y servicios del Centro Comunitario LGBT de San Diego (The Center) y promover su misión. Cada programa de The Center contará con un CAC en funcionamiento para la participación de clientes y miembros de la comunidad, incluyendo, entre otros, Servicios para Personas Mayores, Servicios Latin@x, Black Services, Servicios para Jóvenes, y Servicios para Personas Transgénero y No Binarias (Project TRANS).
Solicitar ser miembro de un CAC es un proceso de 5 pasos. Por favor, revise la descripción del puesto del CAC. Si le interesa unirse a un CAC, complete el formulario de solicitud, disponible en línea y en formato PDF si prefiere imprimirlo y entregarlo en la recepción del Centro.
Este proceso puede tardar hasta 8 semanas, dependiendo de la fecha de entrega de la solicitud. Durante la temporada alta de la organización, no se revisarán las solicitudes para los meses de diciembre y enero.
