Dear Center Community,

My name is Jesus Sanchez (he/him), Volunteer Services Manager, and I’m excited to invite you to our community’s favorite game night, “Sashay, You Play,” on Wednesday, September 24, from 5:30-7:30pm at The Center!

“Sashay, You Play” is The Center’s free game night that brings laughter, friendly competition, and new connections to our community. Held in The Center’s Auditorium, this event is all about bringing people together to meet and connect as we play a variety of board games and card games. The Center provides the games, from familiar classics to newer titles, and there’s something for everyone.

You’re welcome to bring your own games, too! In addition to a variety of games, we will also provide free pizza and soft drinks throughout the night.

What makes “Sashay, You Play” special is the chance to come together as an LGBTQ+ community in a meaningful way. LGBTQ+ rights—especially those of trans and nonbinary people—are increasingly under attack, so spaces where we can gather, connect, and care for one another are critical.

Our game night creates that welcoming atmosphere. Whether you arrive on your own or with friends, you’ll find an environment that makes it easy to join in and meet people who share your desire to connect.

“Sashay, You Play” also bridges generations, bringing together LGBTQ+ people and allies of all ages, including youth, seniors, and everyone in between. These intergenerational connections remind us that our community’s strength comes from shared stories, laughter, and resilience across time.

At its heart, our game night is about building community in a safe, affirming space where everyone is welcomed, valued, and supported.
