This is Jess Diaz (she/her), Senior Manager of Welcome Services at The Center, with important updates about our room rentals to ensure our community members can take advantage of our available spaces and continue supporting The Center’s services.

At The Center, we work hard to create welcoming, affirming community space. We do this every day through free community events, support groups, programs, and services, and by opening our doors to organizations and community members who need event space to gather, organize, celebrate, and build power.

Over the past year, The Center has faced ongoing funding uncertainty, as the federal administration has threatened to defund critical services and organizations that provide them. To prepare for potential funding cuts, our team has thoughtfully explored simple ways to safeguard our services while inviting our community to join us. One way we are doing this is by increasing our auditorium rental rates, creating a small cushion that will help us continue providing life-saving and life-affirming services to communities across San Diego.

To ensure equity and accessibility for our community remain at the heart of this change, we have kept most of the rental rates for our three group rooms the same, and now offer additional discounted rates for grassroots organizations.

If you are looking for more ways to support The Center in this moment, our room rentals are your opportunity to do so while being in community with others. We invite our community partners and members to use our event spaces, which include three accessible, ground-floor group rooms and our auditorium. Rentals include Wi-Fi, hearing loop technology, audio and video equipment, and access to gender-inclusive restrooms.
