I’m Alisandra Del Nero (she/her), Senior Services Case Manager at The Center, and I’m excited to announce that our next Red Hot Dance for queer women 21+ is happening on Saturday, February 7, from 6–9pm at The Center!
As we approach Valentine’s Day, we recognize the value of celebrating love—for our partners, our friends, our neighbors, our given and chosen families, and our communities. At this moment in history, as attacks on bodily autonomy, LGBTQ+ and immigrant rights, and the safety of women and gender-diverse people continue to intensify, showing love for each other and gathering in joy are acts of resistance. Love is expansive and multidimensional, which is why we’re excited to bring together all galactic goddesses, cosmic queers, and celestial lesbians for a interstellar-themed Red Hot Dance!
Our biannual Red Hot Dance celebrates love, joy, and connection across every orbit of our community of queer women. This includes those who identify as lesbians, transgender women, cisgender women, nonbinary folks, womxn, womyn, queer women, dykes, bisexual women, femme-identifying, pansexual women, or any combination within our vibrant queer spectrum. If this space feels like it’s for you, it is!
This month, we are thrilled to welcome DJ Laura Jane back to our stellar dance floor to spin everything from 80s anthems to current hits. We will provide free appetizers and drinks, primarily from women-owned businesses, and a quiet sensory space in our Lunar Lounge, where you can relax if you need a moment away from the dance floor.
Through Women’s Services at The Center, we remain deeply committed to creating opportunities to uplift queer women. Whether through support groups, resources, or events like this one, we continue to foster joy and resilience.
Join us on Saturday, February 7, from 6–9pm in The Center’s Auditorium. There is a suggested $10 donation at the door, but everyone is welcome, regardless of ability to pay. Please RSVP on our website.
Together, we’ll shimmer under the stars, orbit the dance floor, and celebrate the joy, love, and power we create when we gather in the same space.
In community,
Alisandra Del Nero (she/her)
Senior Services Case Manager
