I’m Alisandra Del Nero (she/her), Senior Services Case Manager at The Center, and I’m honored to share that we are hosting our next Red Hot Dance for queer women 21+ at The Center on Saturday, February 15! Since reviving the Red Hot Dance in 2023, we have seen incredible interest from our community in more events celebrating queer women, so we are excited to host this beloved party biannually.
Events like the Red Hot Dance remind us of the power of our community to uplift, protect, and care for one another. As we approach Valentine’s Day, this event will also serve as a celebration of love within our community—a testament to the resilience, joy, and beauty of queer women everywhere.
The Red Hot Dance is a safe space for those who identify as lesbians, transgender women, cisgender women, nonbinary folks, womxn, womyn, queer women, dykes, bisexual women, femme-identifying, pansexual women, or any combination within our queer community. If you feel that you belong here, you do!
At The Center, we understand the importance of fostering spaces that reflect and uplift queer women, who have long been at the heart of the LGBTQ+ movement. With support groups, resources, and gatherings for queer women throughout the year, we are committed to offering both refuge and celebration. In the face of political threats on LGBTQ+ rights and bodily autonomy, we believe deeply in the power of joy, connection, and love to sustain us.
The Red Hot Dance will offer a vibrant, welcoming party space that celebrates the diversity of queer women. DJ Muezette will be joining us for the first time, energizing the dance floor with a mix of music from anthems of the 80s to today’s hits. We’ll also have free appetizers and drinks, primarily provided by women-owned businesses. In addition to the lively festivities, we will provide a quiet sensory space for anyone needing a break from the dance floor, as well as seating for comfort.
This is your chance to build community and experience the magic of togetherness, so please join us at the Red Hot Dance on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 6-9pm in The Center’s Auditorium.
